Bezzecchi Wins Indonesian GP as Jorge Martin Retakes MotoGP Championship Lead From Marquez

BEZZECCHI ENDS HIS WIN DROUGHT

Marco Bezzecchi won Sunday's Indonesian Grand Prix at the Mandalika Circuit, his first grand prix victory since Mugello, finishing in 40 minutes 46.582 seconds. Raul Fernandez came home second for Trackhouse Aprilia, 4.260 seconds back, despite racing with two broken fingers from a tangle with Bezzecchi in Saturday's sprint.

Jorge Martin completed the podium in third, 6.890 seconds behind, with Ai Ogura fourth to give Aprilia a clean sweep of the top four positions on raceday.

MARQUEZ SLIPS TO SIXTH AFTER LEADING THE TITLE RACE

Marc Marquez had arrived at Sunday's race on top of the championship standings after winning Saturday's sprint, a result that handed him the points lead for the first time this season. He could not carry that form into the main race, however, finishing sixth on his Ducati Lenovo machine.

That result proved costly. Martin's third-place finish on Sunday was enough to hand him back the championship lead he had carried into the weekend, undoing the gain Marquez had made with his sprint win a day earlier.

A TIGHT THREE-WAY FIGHT HEADING INTO THE FINAL ROUNDS

With Bezzecchi's win at Mandalika, the Aprilia rider has pulled himself back into the title conversation alongside Martin and Marquez, though he remains well off the pace of the top two in the standings. The result continues what has been one of the most unpredictable MotoGP title fights in years, with the championship lead changing hands between Mandalika's sprint and grand prix alone.

The series now turns to its remaining rounds with Martin back on top, Marquez within striking distance, and Bezzecchi serving notice that he is not out of contention.
