Natalia Silva Wins Vacant Flyweight Title as UFC 332 Sets Finish Records

A new champion crowned

Natalia Silva defeated Wang Cong by unanimous decision in the main event of UFC 332 on Saturday in Salt Lake City, claiming the vacant women's flyweight title left open by two-time champion Valentina Shevchenko. Judges scored the fight 48-47, 48-47 and 49-46 in Silva's favor.

Silva controlled the opening two rounds with her striking and movement, building a lead that proved decisive even as Wang found her best form late, landing her sharpest shots of the fight in the fifth round. It wasn't enough to sway the judges, and Silva was confirmed as the division's fifth champion and just the fourth woman to hold the belt, improving to a perfect 9-0 inside the UFC and 20-5-1 overall. Wang, now 10-1 in MMA and 5-1 in the UFC, remains firmly in the title conversation despite the loss.

A record-setting night of finishes

Beyond the title fight, UFC 332 set promotional records for most first-round finishes, eight, and most total knockouts, eleven, on a single card. The co-main event delivered one of them: Payton Talbott stopped Deiveson Figueiredo by TKO just 2:09 into the first round, a result that prompted Talbott to call out Sean O'Malley as his next opponent.

Statement wins across the card

The finishes kept coming throughout the main card. Esteban Ribovics stopped King Green by TKO in the first round, and Roman Kopylov did the same to Ateba Gautier. Roberto Soldić made a winning UFC debut, taking a clean unanimous decision over Khaos Williams across all three judges' scorecards, a result that should quickly establish him as a name to watch in a card already defined by its sheer volume of finishes.
