Salahdine Parnasse Stops Dan Hooker in UFC Debut at Paris

THE FINISH

Salahdine Parnasse made an immediate statement in his UFC debut, stopping Dan Hooker via TKO at the 2:35 mark of the first round in the UFC Fight Night main event at Paris's Accor Arena. After both fighters traded leg kicks early, Parnasse pressed forward with a big combination, hurt Hooker with a body kick, followed it with a high kick and a left hook that dropped him, then finished the fight with punches on the ground.

THE FALLOUT

The win improves Parnasse to 24-2 and announces him as one of the lightweight division's most dangerous newcomers. Speaking after the fight, he called for a ranked opponent next, naming former UFC champion Max Holloway as his dream matchup. Hooker, who came in on a run of mixed results, falls to 24-15.

ALSO ON THE CARD

The main event wasn't the only upset in Paris. Pavel Andrusca, stepping in on five days' notice for an injured Mairon Santos, beat heavy favorite Nathaniel Wood by unanimous decision to move to 9-0, while Michael Page ground out a decision over Nursulton Ruziboev in his own return to middleweight.

WHAT'S NEXT

Parnasse's call-out sets up a potential showdown that would immediately test him against elite lightweight competition, while UFC officials weigh their next move for both fighters coming out of the Paris card.
