UFC Staffer Earns Contract on Dana White's Contender Series With First-Round KO

An unusual storyline in the co-main
Dana White's Contender Series returned to Las Vegas on Tuesday for Season 10, Episode 9, streamed live on Paramount+, with four fighters earning UFC contracts on a night defined by quick finishes. The most unusual story belonged to the co-main event, where Sal Everett, who works for the UFC itself, improved to a perfect 4-0 with a first-round knockout over Ozzy Martin, stopping him with punches at 1:57.
A finish in the main event
The main event followed the same pattern. Preston LaGrange, now 6-1, knocked out France's previously unbeaten Nell Ariano with a punch just 2:24 into the first round, closing the show with the kind of statement finish the series is built around.
A second chance taken
Elsewhere on the card, Roque Conceicao made the most of a second opportunity at a UFC contract, submitting Peruvian prospect Alexander Chavez, who had entered unbeaten at 9-0, via a triangle choke in the first round at 3:37. Conceicao had previously lost in an earlier Contender Series appearance, making the win a redemption story of sorts.
The rest of the card
Japan's Ryuho Miyaguchi suffered a quick defeat, knocked out by Mateus Soares in just 1:03 of the opening round. In the night's lone fight to go to the judges, Fury FC standout Alivia Bierley defeated Summer Onley by unanimous decision in the women's bantamweight bout, with all three judges scoring it in her favor.
With four new contracts handed out, the episode continued the Contender Series' track record of turning quick, decisive performances into UFC opportunities, adding another group of prospects to the roster heading into 2027.
